20 Nov Recipe:: Chicken Pot Pie Tater Tot
A new take on the already good, hearty, fulfilling chicken pot pie…
TATER TOT top crust!…..YUM!
I always love making a chicken pot pie and enjoying it is even better! Its truly just a “feel good” dish
With this chicken pot pie recipe I went with my original chicken pot pie recipe (see below) the only thing I changed up was using just 1 pie crust at the bottom and then using tater tots to top off the top!
It was Beyond delicious and a big hit for the kids (and my husband)
This is the perfect dish for home or a great dish to bring to a party, you will be the talk of the party!
Ingredients::
1 sweet yellow onion
1 cup diced carrots
1 white potato
1 bag of frozen peas
1/2 cup green beans
1 pie crust
2 tbsp butter
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/3 cup flour
Bag of frozen Tater tots
Directions::
Preheat oven to 425.
First, sauté diced onions in butter. Once onions have cooked down add in your veggies, carrots, green beans, potatoes. Let everything cook until just soft. Add 1/2 cup chicken broth and dust flour over everything until a thick broth forms. Lastly add in your frozen peas and mix in until they are warm. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Place 1 pie crust at the bottom of a deep dish pan. Pour in veggies, top off with tater tots and add a littler more salt to the top of the tater tots.
Place dish in over for about 20 minutes. Last 5 minutes of baking time turn oven up to broil to let the tater tots get a little more crispy. Take out, let cool and then ENJOY!!
Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we did! xo
